This policy explains what NaijaFit collects when you use our app and website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We built NaijaFit around fitness and nutrition — not advertising — and we do not sell your personal health data.

Who we are

NaijaFit (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides an AI-powered fitness and nutrition companion, including meal scanning, body composition estimates, activity tracking, workout plans, and coaching features.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use NaijaFit, we may collect:

  • Account details — name, email, password, and profile preferences you provide when you sign up.
  • Nutrition data — meals you log, photos you upload for meal scanning, and estimated calories and macros derived from those scans.
  • Body scan data — photos and derived measurements used to estimate posture, balance, body composition indicators, and training focus. This is for fitness assessment and programme suggestions only — not medical diagnosis.
  • Activity & health sync — step counts and related activity summaries if you connect Apple Health, Health Connect, or similar providers you choose to authorise.
  • Workout & coaching data — workouts you complete, coach chat messages, and plan preferences used to personalise recommendations.
  • Device & usage data — app version, device type, crash logs, and basic analytics that help us keep NaijaFit reliable.
  • Purchase information — subscription status processed through Apple App Store, Google Play, and our billing partners (such as RevenueCat). We do not store your full payment card details.

How we use your data

We use your information to:

  • Operate meal scanning, body scanning, coaching, and workout features
  • Show progress charts, calorie targets, and personalised suggestions
  • Sync activity data you choose to connect
  • Process subscriptions and enforce plan limits
  • Improve accuracy, reliability, and product quality
  • Respond to support requests and communicate service updates
  • Protect against abuse, fraud, and security incidents

AI features may send necessary inputs (for example, a meal photo or coach message) to trusted model providers solely to generate the response you requested. We do not sell that data to advertisers.

When we share information

We may share limited information with:

  • Service providers who help us run infrastructure, authentication, AI processing, analytics, and subscription billing — under contractual confidentiality obligations
  • App stores and payment processors for purchase validation
  • Authorities when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or integrity of NaijaFit and our users

We do not sell your personal health data to advertisers or data brokers.

Security

We use industry-standard practices to protect your data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we continuously improve our safeguards and ask you to keep your login credentials private.

Retention

We keep account, nutrition, workout, and scan history for as long as your account remains active so you can review progress over time. If you delete your account, we remove or anonymise personal data associated with it, except where we must retain limited records for legal, security, or accounting reasons.

Your choices

  • Update profile details and preferences inside the app
  • Disconnect Apple Health, Health Connect, or other synced providers at any time
  • Stop using AI scan or coach features, or manage subscription settings via your app store
  • Request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data

Children

NaijaFit is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as NaijaFit evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email.
